WHO WE ARE

Eckington WI is a lively, friendly group of women offering the option to meet twice a month on a regular basis – once for our main monthly meeting, and once as ‘Ladies at the Local’, getting together at one of our village pubs for morning coffee or afternoon tea. We’d love you to join us!​

WHAT WE LOVE

Eckington WI meetings include a wide variety of speakers and demonstrations, followed by refreshments and a good catch up with friends both new and old. Afterwards there’s time to vote on the President’s Challenge (an informal, fun challenge relating to the speaker’s topic) before concluding with a round-up of events and news from the Worcestershire Federation of WIs. Our members can also take part in a variety of regular extra-curricular events – many of which are open to non-members – ranging from garden visits and meals out, to pool nights. We also run WITCH (WI The Craft Hub!) afternoons for our crafty members to try out different skills. Eckington WI is proud to be active in village life too, such as organising the popular annual Garage Sale; and supporting the village’s Open Gardens, Flower Festival, Eckstock music festival, Christmas Tree Festival and various Village Hall events.  We’ve also facilitated other local activities such as defibrillator training and sample exercise classes. Importantly, non-members, whether resident in the village or not, are always welcome to attend any Eckington WI meetings which interest them. Details are advertised at the Village Stores, on our social media pages and in the monthly email sent to our members.​
